Most of us are struggling with something or other, and sometimes we feel like we are at the end of our rope. There is a secret to help us deal with our struggles.
It is patience.
When we learn to be patient, we become much better equipped at handling our struggles.
Unfortunately, patience is not a virtue in this day an age. If we are patient, we are called passive. Today's society has no patience for patient people. It rewards the aggressive types. People are conditioned to expect instant gratification in every situation.
Did Leonardo da Vinci paint the Mona Lisa overnight?
NO. It took him years to create his masterpiece.
If we want to have great lives for ourselves and our children, why is that we expect it to be perfect overnight?
Something to think about.
When we learn patience, our lives become far more realistic and much more happier. Those obstacles are not so insurmountable anymore, they are little hurdles along the way.
So, we shouldn't set ourselves up for misery by expecting everything to be perfect NOW. That just isn't going to happen. In time, though, most of your wishes will come true. You just have to be patient, and not think of waiting as punishment.
This is probably the best advice I received from my grandmother. It has stood the test of time and made me a believer in patience.
I thought I would share it with you.
