If you live in a cold, northern country like we do, life gets pretty depressing in the dead of winter thanks to the lack of sunshine and endless cold days with nothing to see but an ocean of white around you.
You just can't help yourself, but be depressed if you need the sun to cheer up.
Last night, I had a laughing fit with my nine-year old. I told him a joke that I remember my father telling me when I was about twelve. To this day I crack up laughing whenever I remember that joke. Last night was no different. We laughed our faces off.
It sure chased away the blues for me. I woke up feeling much better this morning.
I should remember that joke more often.
Thanks, dad, for sharing it with me all those years ago. RIP.
